Call Waiting

Get that important call.
Talking to your best friend, but you're expecting an important call from mom? No problem. Just put one caller on hold while you get the other call, then with another click you are back to your first call.

While your phone is in use, Call Waiting alerts you to another incoming
call. You are able to put the first call on hold and answer the second.

To Answer a Second Call:

  1. When you're on the phone, a "beep" tells you a second call is waiting. Only you hear this beep. If you don't answer the second call within 10 seconds, another "beep" reminds you it's there.
  2. The second caller hears only the normal ringing tone.
  3. Depress the switchhook for about one second to place your first call on hold. You are automatically connected to the second caller.

To Alternate Between Calls:

Depress the switchhook for about one second to alternate between calls. Each of your conversations is private and cannot be heard by the other caller.

To End Either Call:

  1. End conversation and hang up.
  2. Your telephone will ring.
  3. When you answer it, you'll be connected with the other caller. The call you discontinued will no longer be on the line.

To temporarily suspend Call Waiting dial *70; it is automatically reactivated when your call is completed.

  5. The Call Forward feature is in effect when someone answers at the forwarding number.
  6. If the called number doesn't answer or if the line is busy, hang up the phone and repeat the steps above. If you do so within two minutes, you'll hear two "beeps", meaning your Call Forward feature is now working. Once you've activated Call Forward, your phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can make outgoing calls from this phone. If you wish to change the number to which your calls are being forwarded, just deactivate the feature (see top), then follow the steps above to forward your calls to a new number.

To Discontinue Call Forward:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. a. From rotary phones, dial 73 and wait four seconds.
